Coolsculpting is the #1 noninvasive fat reduction treatment. It uses patented cold technology under negative pressure. After the CoolSculpting treatment cycle, a manual massage of the treated fat areas follows. Now, a new technology, Z-wave, uses sound waves to disrupt the treated fat cells, dramatically improving results. Recent studies demonstrate that adding Z-wave to the CoolSculpting treatments enhances the results by over 20 percent compared to traditional CoolSculpting procedures.
Rocky Mountain Laser Center is pleased to be the first medical clinic in Southern Colorado to offer Z-wave treatments to complement CoolSculpting procedures, thus CoolSculpting Plus.
RMLASER offers CoolSculpting+ as an effective, safe, and lasting non-surgical cosmetic procedure to remove unwanted body fat. Contact one of our CoolSculpting+ specialists to schedule a personal consultation to learn if CoolSculpting and CoolSculpting+ works for you:

How effective is CoolSculpting?
Many struggle to eliminate stubborn fat and bulges in noticeable areas around the stomach, referred to as love handles, muffin tops, and spare tires. Diet and exercise are sometimes not enough to streamline and contour these squeezable areas of fat, and many would prefer to avoid the anesthesia, risks, and long downtime of surgery like liposuction. CoolSculpting, a non-invasive fat reduction treatment, is currently the only FDA-approved non-surgical treatment available to treat problem areas, including the stomach, back, and inner and outer thighs.

What causes fatty bulges?
Various issues, including medications, diet, activity levels, changes in metabolic rates, and fluctuations in estrogen, progesterone, and testosterone cause bulges like love handles and muffin tops. These conditions can alter fat storage patterns, resulting in particularly stubborn areas of fat accumulation.
How does CoolSculpting work?
This innovative procedure uses advanced cooling technology to selectively reduce fat layers. Research has shown that subcutaneous fat cells are more vulnerable to cold than surrounding tissue, enabling the CoolSculpting procedure to reduce and destroy fat cells in gradual disintegration. Once the fat cells are destroyed, the body naturally clears and eliminates them. This process is called induced apoptosis and leaves adjacent tissue undamaged.
Who is a candidate for this fat removal treatment?
CoolSculpting is not intended as a weight loss method, meaning it is not a replacement for surgical fat removal methods like liposuction. A good candidate for CoolSculpting will have extra fat in certain areas but should be at a fairly normal weight. A consultation with a cosmetic physician is the best way to determine if this is the right treatment for your fatty areas.
What is the treatment process?
During the procedure, you will lie down or sit in a comfortable chair while an external applicator delivers carefully calibrated cooling to the treatment area, designed to target only fat cells. The extreme cold triggers a natural removal process that gradually eliminates unsightly areas of fat, smoothing bulges and rolls. You may feel pressure and intense cold as a series of applicators of different sizes and shapes carefully sculpt each area. Depending on the size and amount of areas to be treated, the procedure may last from one to three hours or more; during this time, you may read, use your phone or laptop, or nap.
Are there any side effects?
After the procedure, you may experience redness and tingling at the treatment sites. A few patients also experience burning, itching, pain, cramping, or bloating. However, most people experience little discomfort, and many return to work that day.
What can I expect afterward?
Most patients notice a definite and measurable fat reduction in treated areas, with results evident as quickly as three weeks post-treatment. Gradual results continue over three months, providing a safe and gentle way to reduce body fat. Complete flushing of fat cells from the body may continue for four to six months after treatment. Although many patients see noticeable results from one visit, additional treatments may be able to provide even more enhanced sculpting effects.
Are the results from CoolSculpting permanent?
The cells destroyed by CoolSculpting are permanently gone. As long as you maintain a healthy lifestyle and keep your weight at the same level, you will have lasting results from the treatment. On average, one CoolSculpting session results in a 20—to 30-percent reduction of fatty tissue in the treated areas, and repeat treatments can improve results even further. One session should be sufficient to give desired results if you are within 10 percent of your ideal body weight.
How Z-wave is used with CoolSculpting
During a CoolSculpting treatment, cool temperatures are directly applied to a treatment area. The cool temperatures freeze and destroy fat cells, which are then naturally disposed of through natural body processes.
Following a CoolSculpting treatment, a manual massage is traditionally performed. However, our team now uses Z-wave sound technology, using shock waves that pass through the fat layers to stimulate the fat cells to break up more quickly than traditional CoolSculpting with massage. The result is less recovery time, pain, bruising, and downtime, and dramatically improved results! Best of all, adding Z-wave pulse technology to our CoolSculpting procedures is offered at no additional charge.
